News: KADUNA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY CONDEMNS INCESSANT KILLINGS IN KAURA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Kaura Constituency, Mr Yusuf Mugu has condemned in strong terms the unabated killings in parts of Kaura Local Government Area with a call on the State Government to come up with drastic measures to stem the ugly trend.

It would be recalled that communities in Kaura Local Government including; Tsonje, Maraban Agban and Zunuruk settlements have in the past two weeks witnessed pockets of alleged killings of innocent persons.

Mr Mugu in an interview with our Correspondent on Wednesday in Kafanchan said what was more worrisome was that the people who were predominantly subsistent farmers could no longer attend to their farms for harvest for fear of being attacked thereby, raising concern about their livelihood.

The Law maker regretted that the development had already raised fear in the minds of residents of the affected communities as some of them had already vacated their ancestral home for some other locations.

He described the situation as a sorry development to behold as women and children carry luggages to destinations they feel their lives would be secured.

Mr Mugu who expressed  concern especially over families who lost loved ones, charged the Government to wake up to its responsibility by bringing perpetrators of the dastardly acts to book.

While urging the Government to fast track efforts at addressing the situation, more so that the Christmas festivity was barely two weeks away, the Legislator

consoled the families of those who lost loved ones in the attacks.
